Artist's Commentary

In our circle of friends, there's a good number of us that are artistically talented. This is one reason why we tried to implement the multi-cartoonist angle early on - to try to bring a wide variety of flavor to the strip.
This comic was done by our friend Derek Weidman, who is easily the most artistic out of the entire lot of us. At the time of this strip, he hadn't really done much digital artwork, and I believe that this comic itself might have been one of his early trials in the medium.
As of late, he has become quite a prominent name in the world of wood sculpture and wood-turning, and has made some truly remarkable pieces. In fact, he has contributed to several galleries and submitted his work to art shows, and has come away with several awards and publications showing his work.
I encourage you to check out his website, as he is regularly producing works of art that I'm sure you're unaccustomed to seeing.

Update
This comic has been edited at the request of the creator. His fear was that the words expressed by his younger self would prove too offensive to some, and seeing as he has become a renowned artist in the meanwhile, he didn't want this comic to be connected to his image (This is something of which I can relate, seeing as some of the 'news posts' that I wrote accompanying these comics when they first aired are enough to make me physically cringe...)
So, after discussing with him different ways to censor the comic, I eliminated some offending language, and straight-up changed some to be more *ahem* 'gentlemanly'. I feel it adds another flavor of humor to the mix.
