Artist's Commentary
This was the most popular guest strip that we had ever done for another comic. In fact, I believe the title that the Mall Monkeys creators gave it was'THE BEST GUEST COMIC STRIP EVER!!1!"
Mall Monkeys exploded onto the scene and immediately captured a large audience, but it only lasted a few years before it gave up the ghost. I believe that there might have been some fighting amongst the creators (a common occurrence in the webcomic world, as it turns out), which made it difficult to maintain the comic's running.
The artist behind the strip, Eric Drobile, has apparently done pretty well for himself since then. He was majoring in animation at the time of the strip's life, and has gone on to become a pretty prominent animator. Check out his demo reel here.
