Cartoons For Sale is a series of cartoons that I made to pass the time while I worked my first job at a grocery store. I worked in a store that was suffering customer loss due to strong competition, and the end result was that I had plenty of time to sit around and sketch a doodle here and there.
Eventually, my co-workers caught on to the fact that I was making all these cartoons about them, so I began to post them up around the store for everyone to read and enjoy. Well, everyone, except for the target of the comic's punchline.
Since I took college courses during the day, I often worked the night shifts, which seemed to be the slowest times of them all. This is when the bulk of these comics were created. Of course, when a customer actually DID come in and want to purchase something, it became an annoying and terrible inconvenience to my drawing time, so I tried to capture the feel of that in the cover here.
